A CTFIIA Training Event and Business Meeting

There will be three, 90 minute sessions:
Session 1: Building Construction and Passive Fire/Explosion Protection

Session 2: Combustion Science and Fire Effects/Patterns
(TCOLE 3509)
Session 3: Forensic Analysis of Electrical Systems and Appliances

The CTFIIA will hold its business meeting during the lunch hour which will include voting on new board members and proposed bylaw changes.
4.5 hours of TCOLE/TCFP CEs will be provided.

About the instructor, Paul Ayres:

Paul Ayres is a private-sector fire and explosion investigator with over 13 years of experience in the public-sector. Throughout his career he has been involved in several hundred fire/explosion investigations, including 27 fatal incidents accounting for 40 fatalities. In addition to advanced-level TCFP and TCOLE certifications, he has obtained multiple third-party credentials, including IAAI-CFI, CFEI, CVFI, and CFE.
Paul holds an associate’s degree in Fire Science, a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, a graduate certificate in Homeland Security, and a master’s degree in Public Administration. He is currently enrolled as a Ph.D. student at Oklahoma State University, where he is studying forensic science with emphasis on arson and explosives.
In addition to forensic investigations, he teaches fire science courses and serves as the Chair of the Fire Science program at Trinity Valley Community College. He is a guest instructor for the Forensic Fire Death Investigation course hosted by the Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State University, and the Fire Executive Management Training (FEMT) program at Sam Houston State University.
